i3 Practice Intensive · Groundworks
Thirty five acres beneath the Shawangunk Ridge. This is the full i3 system in one place: hips and lower body, then spine and core, then shoulders and arms, each one building on the last. You leave with a framework for building strength and range across your whole body, not just the area that happens to be bothering you right now.
Everything a teacher training gives you, without the pressure of having to teach any of it. No certification. Just the work.
Over three days, you will:
→ Refine your asana shape by shape, so you understand what each pose is actually asking of your body instead of guessing at it.
→ Work through the whole body in sequence, hips to spine to shoulders, and see how a limitation in one region shows up two joints away.
→ Learn what keeps breaking down in your own practice, how to support an injury, and how to manage pain without sitting out.
→ Train the holds that make range stay, with a time and an effort level attached, so you can keep running the protocol after you go home.
→ Practice twice a day in a 1,200 square foot studio with a sprung wood floor, props provided, all meals made in the main house kitchen.
There is also a wood-fired sauna, a hot tub, and a fire pit, which are worth naming because three days of this work earns them. Every retreat held at Groundworks helps fund low or no cost residencies for movement artists and writers, so your weekend supports someone else's work too.
